David Hanlon LL.B, 

David has been involved in Family Law since the creation of the Family Court in 1975 and its commencement in 1976. He commenced practice in 1981 and sole practice in 1982. In 1998 he joined a mid tier CBD firm.

David joined the Berry Family Law team in March 2009.

David has had experience in a wide variety of legal arenas throughout his career but has concentrated his practice upon Family Law for at least the past 20 years. David has significant expertise in all areas of family law, including children's matters, property issues, maintenance and enforcement.

David is a member of the Family Law section of the Law Institute of Victoria and in addition to legal practice he is actively involved in community work outside the law. 

Over the years David has been involved in a variety of sporting pursuits, including lawn bowls, cycling, swimming, professional athletics, distance running and triathlons.

David's Reflections:

• People experiencing a breakdown of their relationship have needs which require particular understanding, appreciation and assistance. It is important that family lawyers remain impartial, objective and understanding of this, and provide expertise and assistance to ensure fair and equitable treatment in all respects, whilst ensuring the protection of children and the parties rights generally.
